We currently offer three traditional Finnish cottages across Puumala and one guest house located in the town center of Puumala. Each providing a comfortable stay for your holiday in Finland.

Situated within walking distance of the famous Puumala Bridge, it’s a great stop along the scenic Saimaa Road Trip or the Puumala Archipelago Route.

Along the way, you’ll come across incredible sandy beaches where you should definitely take a refreshing dip.
Saimaa boating trips in Puumala
With approximately 36% of its 1,237.75 square kilometers covered by lakes, Puumala is the perfect destination for a Saimaa boating trip and to do other water sports.
Several boat rental companies operate in the Lake Saimaa area, making a boating holiday visiting one of the many Finnish Lakeland islands possible. Besides renting a boat to discover the area by yourself, local companies and organisations also offer day cruises around Puumala like the local Saimaa hop on hop off cruises, Saimaa Seal Cruises and unique fish cruises with local fishers.
Driving to Puumala from other Cities
Puumala is conveniently situated within a reasonable driving distance from several major Finnish cities.
If you are traveling to Puumala from the direction of Mikkeli, you will enjoy one of the most scenic routes in the Nordic countries, namely Road 62. Additionally, day trips to other cities in the region are easily feasible by car or motorcycle from Puumala.
To Puumala:
- From Helsinki: Approximately 300 kilometers, about a 3.5-hour drive.
- From Tampere: Approximately 335 kilometers, about a 4 hour drive.
To visit other cities in the region:
- Savonlinna: Approximately 70 kilometers to the northeast, around a 1-hour drive.
- Mikkeli: About 70 kilometers to the west, roughly a 1-hour drive.
- Lappeenranta: About 100 kilometers to the southeast, roughly a 1.5-hour drive.
